The Judgment of Paris—the 50th Anniversary
This session will be presented by Dr. Matilda Parente, CSW
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Judgment of Paris, the now-legendary blind tasting that upended French wine supremacy and positioned California as a world-class source of fine wine. While wine professionals are familiar with this plot line, the improbable backstories behind this watershed moment are far less widely known—and every bit as dramatic. This lively retrospective on the personalities, decisions and circumstances that gave rise to the Judgment of Paris will show how that 1976 tasting reshaped global perceptions and helped usher in the extraordinary diversity of fine wines we enjoy today.
This is a members-only webinar, and advance registration is required.
To secure your spot, please contact Jane Nickles at jnickles@societyofwineeducators.org.
A recorded version of this webinar will be available on the member portal of the SWE website after the conclusion of the live session.
