  • Saturday, October 12—10:00 am central time: A Journey through Scotch Whisky….and Irish Whisky! Join Russ Kempton, CSS for a “compare and contrast” journey through Scotland and Ireland. Russ will offer up a series of whisk(e)y flights (one Scotch, one Irish) and lead us on a discovery of the differences between the products, the classifications, and their rules and regulations. Russ Kempton is the owner of Speaking of Grapes and Grains – a company which educates, entertains, and consults on all aspects of alcoholic beverages.

  • Wednesday, October 16, 2019 – 7:00 pm central time: The Insider’s Guide to the CWE Exam – presented by Jane A. Nickles. CSE, CWE: If you are considering stepping up to the Certified Wine Educator Credential, this session is for you! We’ll discuss the exam itself (multiple choice, essay, and tasting portions) as well as the resources available to students and some tips for studying and skills practice. You’ll also have a chance to ask any questions that have been weighing on your mind. If you are considering whether the CWE is your next step (or just want to know more about the process), this one-hour session is for you!

  • Sunday, October 20—4:00 pm central time: The Insider’s Guide to the CSW Exam – presented by Jane A. Nickles, CSE, CWE: If you are currently pursuing the CSW Certification, or considering the CSW as your next stage of professional development, this one-hour session is for you! This online workshop will cover all aspects of the CSW, including what the test covers, how difficult the test is, what type of questions to expect, the resources available to students, and how long SWE recommends for study before sitting the exam.

While Oregon is an important player on the high-end wine market, and sets the bar high in sustainability, it is also known to be extremely low-key.  This webinar will cover Oregon’s fascinating wine history and geography, and introduce a few major personalities, so you can appreciate just how different Oregon’s story is. And you may well ask, what will it take to keep Oregon weird?
